Discover the benefits of reverse living with Metricon

This clever design flip is becoming increasingly popular in Australia. It allows customers to make the most of any views their land might have, whether they be of the ocean, countryside, or cityscape.

Metricon has recently unveiled a unique new display home in Curlewis.

The innovatively designed Alto challenges traditional two-storey living, with three bedrooms located on the ground floor and an open plan kitchen, dining and living space and master suite located on the first floor.

This clever design flip, known as reverse or upside-down living, is becoming increasingly popular in Australia.

It allows customers to make the most of any views their land might have, whether they be of the ocean, countryside, or cityscape.

Other benefits of this type of design include more natural light and airflow in the kitchen, dining and living spaces and more privacy throughout the entire home.

A large undercover outdoor living space is perfect all year around.

The wow factor begins before you even step inside this home, with its striking Strand facade.

A new addition to Metricon’s range, the Strand facade features a skillion roof and a combination of light timber cladding and rendered brickwork, to provide a contemporary look with coastal twist.

In addition to three bedrooms, the ground floor includes a bathroom, a study, and a leisure room that flows seamlessly to an outdoor room with an opulent firepit.

This makes it a flexible space, and perfect for families with older children or for a holiday home.

The wow-factor continues as you make your way up the semi-cantilevered staircase to the first floor, which features a stunning pitched ceiling and an array of picture windows to create a bright and inviting space.

Balconies at the front and the rear of the first floor also ensure you can enjoy panoramic views from every angle.

The kitchen, complete with an extra-long island bench, butler’s pantry, and muted sage green cabinetry, has access to the front balcony to provide ease of transition when entertaining, while the family and dining spaces overflow to the balcony at the rear.

The master suite, which includes a walk-in robe and an ensuite with a double vanity, also has access to the front balcony and stunning views, to provide a luxury hotel-like feel.

This design allows more natural light and airflow in the kitchen, dining and living spaces and more privacy throughout the entire home.

Frank and Joanne Kelberg have just chosen the Alto home design for their beach house in Portarlington after they were one of the first to see the design on display in Curlewis.

“The reverse living floorplan was exactly what we were looking for,” Frank said.

“We expect frequent visits from our children and grandchildren, so they will no doubt take advantage of the bedrooms and leisure room downstairs.

“However, what clinched it for us was the fabulous balcony and outdoor room at the rear of the home, which will allow us to fully enjoy our beach front views.”

See and experience the Alto first-hand at 4 Appleby Street, Curlewis, every day from 11am to 5pm.
