FIRST AUCTION AT SALT SEES YOUNG FAMILIES MAKE TORQUAY HOME

February 7, 2019 BY

A good size crowd attended the Australia Day auction at Salt Torquay.

With lots at Salt Torquay nearing completion, a large crowd was present at the first auction on Australia Day which saw bidding from first home buyers, young families and retirees.

With five lots selling on the day priced from $330,000, selling agent Leigh Hall- Sullivan said that since the office opened after the long weekend auction, many prospective buyers had been coming in.

“Everyday someone from the auction is coming through the door to make enquiries or signing contracts for a lot in Salt,” Mr Hall-Sullivan said.

“With the remaining lots not sold at auction being listed for sale this week at $330,000 we see this as a great opportunity for new home builders to enter the central Torquay market at a cost that makes a home build feasible.

“The buyers in this estate not only become part of the most sustainable and efficient living opportunity in Torquay but will also benefit from the excellent offers the developers, Barwon Water, are included with each purchase.

“Each property owner will be gifted a battery installation credit certificate at the time of purchase that will entitle the owner to reimbursement of the first $5,000 in costs for an accredited battery storage and control system connected to the household solar system.

“Also, land owners will be provided with a free certificate for up to 250 plants to incorporate into garden landscaping.”

With Salt Torquay, affordability and accessibility has been front of mind in design, focusing on housing diversity as a key to catering to a broad marketand creating a community with diverse demographics providing opportunity for stay-at home retirees to complement working families and first home buyers.

Salt Torquay will be the first estate in Australia to require all houses include universal access with a silver rating.

Consistent with the Victorian Government’s Water for Victoria plan, the project has a focus on water services that are affordable and sustainable.
