Young Cats fan lights up GMHBA Stadium
SIMONDS Homes has helped bring a young fan’s imagination to life at GMHBA Stadium, continuing its partnership with the Geelong Cats through a once-in-a-lifetime competition that celebrates the magic of game day for the next generation of supporters.
Through it’s “Design the Cats’ Big Screen Goal Moment” competition, Simonds invited children across Victoria to reimagine the goal sting – that’s the visual that plays on the big screen when the Cats’ kick a goal.
The competition offered a simple but powerful moment: the chance to see your child’s imagination come to life on game day, surrounded by the roar of the crowd.

That dream became reality for 11-year-old Reeva, whose winning design was showcased on the GMHBA Stadium big screen during round 8, in front of a packed crowd.
For many at the game, it was a powerful reminder of the pride that comes from watching a child’s imagination come to life on such a large stage.
Reeva’s family member, Elise Vella, said the moment was unforgettable for everyone involved.
“We had a little cheer squad around us. Everyone was cheering so loud for Reeva’s goal sting,” Elise said.
She said the experience only grew more special as the day went on.

“People were recognising her as we were walking out later,” Elise said. “She felt like a celebrity. She still can’t believe it really happened. She had the most amazing time.”
As part of the prize, Reeva also received a 2026 Simonds-branded Geelong Cats guernsey signed by her favourite player Jezza, along with match tickets for her and her family and the opportunity to take part in the Guard of Honour – turning an idea created at home into a shared family memory at the heart of game day.
Simonds Homes chief of sales and marketing Shaun Patterson said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to creating meaningful, generational experiences through its partnership with the Cats.
“Moments like this are exactly why we do it,” Patterson said.

“There’s something incredibly special about seeing a child’s idea come to life on game day and knowing it becomes a memory the whole family will talk about for years.”
The initiative also recognised a number of talented runner-ups, who each received their own Geelong Cats team guernsey and a signed 2026 team poster, ensuring more young fans were rewarded for their creativity and enthusiasm.
For many families, it was more than a competition – it became a shared moment of pride and connection, sparked at home and carried through to game day, as children saw their ideas come to life and families experienced the joy together across generations.
