Oreana has parachuted in to rescue the 170 lot Dalgona Estate in Whites Road Mt Duneed after the projects civil contractor went into liquidation under the previous developer

Oreana Group has strengthened its foothold in the Armstrong Creek Growth Corridor with its recent purchase of the 170-lot Dalgona at Duneed development in Whites Road.

Dalgona at Duneed was originally marketed as a premium boutique land estate located at Mt Duneed near the Surf Coast Highway and the Armstrong Creek Town Centre that would provide future residents with both convenience and adventure at their doorsteps.

At launch time, the original developer was able to sell all 170 lots within hours of being made available, but the project then struck trouble after their civil contractor went into liquidation.

Purchasers had initially expected titles to be issued in April 2024, but were facing the prospect of the development failing to be delivered.

However, Oreana has announced the development will still go ahead for all 170 lots, and while purchasers have been given an option to opt out of their contracts and have their deposits returned, most are still choosing to proceed.

Oreana Group General Manager Ken Munro said that more than half of purchasers had already indicated an intention to retain their original purchase.

Oreana Group general manager Ken Munro said more than half of purchasers had already indicated an intention to move forward, signalling a desire to remain invested in Melbourne’s booming Geelong region.

“We’re pleased to offer certainty to customers as well as ensuring a great outcome those who were facing the prospect of the development being in limbo and unable to proceed with their purchase.

“We have engaged another contractor, Civil Force, to lay the groundwork for the new community, including drainage and roads, which began in October 2023.

“We’re expecting to complete the community in two stages with titles anticipated to be issued mid next year and the first buyers able to start building in 12 months’ time following settlement.”

He said Dalgona at Duneed enjoyed a prime location south of the Geelong CBD and west of Armstrong Creek, with Bells Beach and Torquay Beach just a short 10-to-15-minute drive away.

Oreana Group acquired more than 1.67 hectares opposite The Village Warralily Shopping Centre in 2021.
