JM Homes boldly thinks outside the square

JM HOMES is proud to announce the release of two new display homes: The Torquay, which is specifically designed with smarter blocks in mind; and The Fair Haven, which is a grand two-storey home.

The thought behind the design is that the blocks being developed have frontages generally from 12.5 to 16 metres and varying from 28 to 34 metres deep.

Although these lot sizes are quite suitable for a two-storey home, they can sometimes prove restrictive when planning a single-level home to suit all your needs.

The team at JM Homes, with the vast knowledge drawn from a multitude of homes which they have built in the UK, and even more in Australia, have decided to showcase a split-level home that incorporates a garage basement for underground car parking that could also lend itself to other uses should the client desire.

JM Homes director Jamie Mills said the block they were building the single-storey display on was 14 metres wide. The company has managed to fit a 32sqm home onto it.

“The block we have next-door is 16 metres wide, and we have designed a large two-storey home on it which is 34.5sqm, so the homes are very similar in size but two very different floor plans.

“With using the floor space that is usually taken up by the garage, we are able to open up the ground floor to be all living space, giving a totally different use of space to a single-storey home.

“This is a very bold move by JM Homes and will create a lot of interest, questions and curiosity into how it works.

“It will obviously add to your build cost, but when you see the space created by this clever design you will understand the benefit of going underground.

“Your unique home, should you choose to go down this path, will be the envy of the street and will be a real talking point among neighbours.

“We are confident this design will prove to be very successful and that our bold move will be received well.”

This concept is only the start of what JM Homes has planned for its future on the Surf Coast with the possibilities being endless.

Imagine the kids in the basement theatre room
or playing pool in the games room underground, and why not slip a wine cellar into the mix to keep those special bottles at the right temperature? The possibilities are yours to explore.

At JM Homes, they have the vision and passion to bring your dreams to reality, dare to be different and realise your potential, why follow the crowd when the crowd could be following you.

The display homes are located in Quay 2 and will be opening at the end of 2018.
