Park is open for play

November 14, 2017 BY

The new $2.6 million Armstrong District Park is now open for all to enjoy. The sprawling 2.4-hectare children’s and community haven, which is located adjacent to the $7.5 million Club Armstrong residents’ facility, includes intuitive play areas, tactile and sensory adventure activities such as climbing a flying fox and tunnels, a basketball half-court, safe-skate
area and table tennis facilities. The innovative playspace will be officially opened by Minister for Sport and Minister for Tourism John Eren, with a superhero-themed community picnic on October 15.

Summer sports get started
Continuing the focus on sport as a great foundation for the establishment of strong networks and friendships within new communities, Armstrong warmly welcomes the newly formed Armstrong Creek Cricket Club. The new club is fast growing in numbers and recruiting a lot of cricket enthusiasts from within the community, with its inaugural match in the Bellarine Peninsula Cricket league during October. The club will field at least one D-Grade side, with plans to also add an under-17 to the list shortly, and is now training on Sundays.

Land Sales Team has a new home
The Armstrong signature masterplan floor sticker is back, and is bigger and better than ever. With the new Display Village now in full swing on Unity Drive, Mt Duneed, the Land Sales Team also now have a new home. To cater for the increasing foot traffic through the village and the continued demand for land within the Armstrong and Sanctuary communities, the new information centre has been expanded to create an innovative and immersive experience for visitors. ‘Walk’ the masterplan and explore the interactive land list on the touch screens, while the kids play in the adventure cubby zone outside – time to check it out!

Active communities
Villawood is passionate about creating communities designed for living, where residents can easily connect with each other and form strong bonds and friendships.
