INDEPENDENTLY owned and managed liquor retailer Harry Brown has opened its doors in Torquay.

The new 500sqm store is the biggest liquor retailer on the Surf Coast and has a strong focus on catering to the tastes of local clientele.

The Torquay store has more than 2,500 wines, more than 1,000 spirits and 600 beers and ciders from local, national and international suppliers for customers to choose from.

Owners Robert Montebello from Torquay and Sukoon Bedi from Winchelsea are experienced liquor retailers, and also own and operate Cellarbrations in Lorne.

Both are part of several community clubs and associations, and their families grew up in the Surf Coast Shire.

“We have tailored our range to suit local needs and have designed our store layout to help you find your favourite choice quickly,” Mr Montebello said.

“Whether you are shopping for a gift, the perfect match for your meal or searching for that hard-to-find bottle, Harry Brown staff are here to help.”

The newest Harry Brown store is part of Liquor Marketing Group, one of Australia’s leading independent retail groups, providing independent store owners with the collective buying power they need to offer local customers with great deals on the products they love.

Customers can shop in-store and online through the Harry Brown app and website and will benefit from click and collect and home delivery services.

Shoppers can also take advantage of the hundreds of specials storewide as advertised in Harry Brown’s regular 12-page catalogues.

As a retail brand, Harry Brown is especially known for its extensive craft beer selection and offers an everyday special of 25 per cent off when purchasing any six single craft beers.

“Craft beer is very much about discovery,” Harry Brown general manager Matt McEvoy said.

“Australians have embraced the craft beer movement in recent years, and we love giving our shoppers the opportunity to explore such a big range of craft beer sourced from smaller breweries who experiment with unique flavour combinations and styles.

“We also have great deals wine. If you purchase six bottles of wine, you get an additional 10 per cent off. We do this every day, even if they are on special. Several times a year we do 25 per cent off wine sales.”

Harry Brown Torquay is at 65 Geelong Road, Torquay and is open from 10am-8pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 10am-9pm from Thursday to Saturday.
