THE Anglesea Golf Club held a function on Sunday to celebrate the completion of its refurbishment.

The event was attended by a range of club members and Surf Coast Shire councillors, including mayor Rose Hodge.

While it hasn’t been fully closed, since July the clubhouse has had a lot of work done on it.

Anglesea Golf Club general manager David Sanders said as a result the clubhouse now had more to offer to the community.

“It had been 20 years since there had been an internal refurbishment.

“The refurbishment has modernised the clubhouse and made it fresher and brighter and more attractive for the use of the members and the wider community.”

These improvements were enabled as part of the state government’s Pick My Project grants, where the community was able to vote on which projects they felt were most deserving of the grants.

As one of the recipients, the club was given $138,000 to upgrade and modernise the clubhouse.
