ANGLESEA GOLF CLUB – December 20, 2018

THE men and women had their Christmas break-up days last week, hot and humid for the men and raining for the women.

On Wednesday 12 December the Men played a shot gun start Modified Stableford competition preceded by a barbeque lunch.

The winners with 111 points were Shane Blake, Tim Bone, Jack Bone and David Elam. Runners up were Barry Mason, Garry
Beurteaux, Colin Patterson and Graham Rees with 108 points. Third place went to Keith Turner, John Milton, John McGibbony and John Balderstone with 107 points on a countback.

On Thursday 13 December a few hardy souls played Irish Four Ball for nine holes in steady rain. Winners of the front nine with 42 points were Lesley McMaster, Pam Ledgerd, Marg DeVries and Julie Kirk. The runners up also had 42 points – Suellen Eskrigge, Judy Talbot, Anne Larkin and Heather Jillard. The winners of the back nine with 43 points were Barbara Cook, Marilyn Cross, Iris Agg and Diane Williams. Runners up with 37 points were Stefi Bates and Anne Macaulay.

Christmas lunch and good fun was had by all, including Santa Foster and his helper Julie Taylor delivering Kris Kringle gifts to everyone. The women also made donations to Anglesea’s Foodlink charity.

There are plenty of activities at the Club over the holiday period – Mini golf, Kangaroo tours, the Driving range, the Clubhouse Bistro and golf every day with Medley fields on Wednesday and Thursdays as well as the normal Saturday and Sundays.
