Anglesea Golf Club – June 21, 2018

ON Wednesday 13 June the Men played Stableford. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Sam Horne with 36 points on a countback from Runner Up David Lewis who also had a score of 36 points. The B Grade Winner was Peter Calvert (again!) with 39 points, while Bernie Dilger finished Runner Up with 37 points. The C Grade Winner was Allan Spence with 36 points from Runner Up Ray Heathcote with 33 points. Ball rundown to 34 points on a countback. NTPs: 3rd Mervyn Worsfold, 6th Allan Smith, 13th John Mooney and Jackpot 16th David Hitchcock.

On Thursday 14 June the Women played Stroke – Monthly Medal. The A Grade and Monthly Medal Winner (on countback) was Judy Talbot with nett 76, while Dee Stewart finished Runner Up with nett 84. The B Grade Winner was Ella Coleman with nett 76, from Runner Up Margot Parton who scored nett 81. The C Grade Winner was Biddy Tuohey with nett 84 while Estie Wines finished Runner Up with nett 86. Ball rundown to 82 nett. NTPs: 3rd Janet Coombes, Jackpot 13th Janet Coombes and 16th Linda Aimers. Ann Stokes won the Putting competition with 30 putts, while Judy Talbot returned the Best Gross score of the day with Gross 90.

On Saturday 16 June the Men and Women played Stroke with the Men also playing the Chas Gibbs Trophy Qualifying. The Men’s A Grade Winner was Brent McDonald with nett 73. The B Grade winner was Stuart Leigh with 74 nett on a countback. Darryl Stanley won C Grade with nett 75 on a countback. Ball rundown to 75 nett on a countback. The Women’s Winner was Karen Mather with 85 nett. Ball rundown to 85 nett. NTPs: 3rd Dale Saunders, 6th Andrew Glide, 13th David McGuane and Jackpot 16th Darren Turner. The 1st Round matches in the Chas Gibbs Trophy are Stuart Leigh v John Smith, Peter Parfitt v Darren Hawkins, David McGuane v Sam Horne, Dale Saunders v Darren Turner. Good luck to all.

Due to the cold weather on Sunday 17 June, noone was brave enough to play in the daily competition.
