SUNDAY will see Anglesea host the Sprint Series Adventure Race.

The race is for teams of two. It includes running, mountain biking and kayaking.

An added challenge is that the teams need to use maps and a compass to navigate their way from one checkpoint to another.

There are both novice and classic courses. The novice course is approximately two thirds the distance of the classic one.

Last year’s classic event was won by Deanna Blegg and Gavin Allen in a time of three hours, 18 minutes and nine seconds.

The novice event was won by Jess and Adam Brown who managed a time of two hours, eight minutes and 27 seconds.

Entries are still open until tomorrow (Friday, October 18) and are priced at $119 per person. However, race organisers will try to accommodate anyone who registers late.

The race will begin at 78 Great Ocean Road near the mouth of the Anglesea River at 9am on Sunday, October 20.
