CURLEWIS GOLF CLUB – August 22, 2019

Another wild week of weather has greeted us! With some terrible conditions prominent throughout the week scoring was tough in general as we saw reduced fields. Hopefully some nicer weather isn’t far away as we head towards spring.

As a long winter begins to wind down, we are turning our attention towards our 49^th annual open week. Running from Wednesday October 16 through till the Saturday October 19, we are excited that both men and women will have the opportunity to play every day of the open week with slight changes to the structure of the week. Please make sure you get your entry in as spots are filling up fast.

Eagles: Don Lymer on the 16^th on Wednesday. Saturday – Allan Ordona 7th and Shaun Gilbert 14^th.

Monday August 12: Men S’Ford: 47 Players – The very soggy conditions made scoring a lot more difficult but that didn’t stop Harvey Webb (21) from scoring 39. Next best was Dennis Burns (17) on 33. Women: 11 Players – Pip Williams (15) 30; Jay Magee (14) 29 C/B.

NTP: 8th – John Board, 17^th – And Golden Shot Winner – Phil Larcombe (1.07m and $53)

Tuesday August 13: Women 9 Holes Stroke: 19 Players – Reduced field due to the weather conditions saw Barbara Forsyth win on C/B with 39 from Sue O’Brien.

Wednesday August 14: Men PAR: – 128 Players. A) Visitor Darren Linter (6) +3; Bob Humphrey (7) +2 C/B. B) Craig Robinson (17) +2; Joshua Bowen (16) +1 C/B. C) Keith Freeman (23-Howlong GC)) +3; John Christoe (23) +1 C/B.

NTP: 4th – Ernie O’Neill, 8th – Phillip Curtain, 13^th – Jackson Ristevski, 17^th – And Golden Shot Winner – Nick Hutchison (1.98m and $109).

Thursday August 15: Women S’Ford: 49 Players – A) Claire McKay (14) 34; Pam Roberts (18) 30 C/B. B) Sue Webb (31) 33; Angela Fooks (29) 31.

NTP: 4th – Kath Fleming, (Pizza on Madeley), 8th – Margie Black, 13^th – Claire McKay (Leura Park Estate), 17^th and Golden Shot Winner – Jill Pring ($45).

Saturday August 17: Men S’Ford: 155 Players. Very pleasant conditions greeted us today.
