From The Mat – November 22, 2018

November 22, 2018 BY

A BUSY bowling schedule this month had several highlights. Sue and Les Rolls once again organised an exciting Melbourne Cup Day event. The ladder for the Great Ocean Properties Twilight Social League was upended with the “Men in Black” team scoring a big win.

Anglesea Primary School parents and supporters put on a most enjoyable and successful annual fundraiser day, with live music provided by two duets: Tanya Hillman and Ricky McGillivray, and Craig and Georgina Sayer. Ben Coyle and Peter Austin kept everyone well fed.

Best bowling performances came from the kids, but adults provided the drama at the auctions afterwards!

Sovereign Financial Monthly Triples second round winners Keith Hornibrook, Ben Coyle and Terry Hope put pressure on the leader’s board.

Ladies Open Day, sponsored by Anglesea Pharmacy and Carpet House, saw an Anglesea scratch team win the day, with the Ocean Grove girls take runner up spot on a countback from Highton. Leopold snatched Consolation and the Spider.

Directors Charity Day was sponsored by Great Ocean Road Resort and Bob Dwyer, Terry Hope, George Schulze and Estie Wines took the honours with a close finish from Dick McDonald, Stephen Ross, Kaye Kendall and Ben Coyle.

Anglesea Community Network will have its monthly movie on November Monday 26 and then in January.
