Give netball a go this weekend

February 5, 2016 BY

THE Bellarine and District Netball Association is hosting a “come and try” day this weekend.

Come down to Kardinia Park netball courts, Latrobe Terrace, Geelong, this Saturday between 9am and 11am (check-in time is 8.45am).

The BDNA’s Saturday morning program is a “one- stop-shop” for everything netball.

Players aged between five and 15 will be able to join the program, which runs concurrently with school terms.

The players will have the opportunity to develop their netball skills, whether as a player, an umpire or a potential coach.

Parents are also welcome to join in if they would like to work towards becoming a coach.

The main focus is on junior skill development and match play, with training offered in specific court skills.

The program will offer more one-on-one coaching than is possible in standard netball teams, from qualified Netball Victoria coaches in the Barwon Netball region.

The agenda also offers a Junior Umpire Development program, which teaches participants the skills necessary to umpire with confidence, gain their umpire badge and move on to umpiring at higher levels.

The aim of the association is to maximise a player’s love of the game, as well as provide talented players, umpires and coaches access to pathways towards their further development.

NetSetGo age 5-7 years – cost $25 per term Coaching age groups 11, 13, 15 – cost $45 per term Trainee umpires cost $25 per term.
