Lorne will play South Colac in the grand final at Central Reserve in Colac on Saturday.
Club president Ken Hoskings said he was positive about Lorne’s chances.
“The team has put in the work during the year and if everything lines up on the day we won’t have any excuses.
“We’ll have our best team on the ground and it should be a good contest.”
Both sides have had fantastic seasons, as they finished on equal points, with Lorne claiming first spot on percentage.
Lorne were premiers last season when they defeated Birregurra.
This year they defeated South Colac 11.6 (72) to 8.6 (54) in the second semi-final to ensure a spot in the grand final.
Yet South Colac will be encouraged by their exceptional comeback against Apollo Bay in the preliminary final.
They had a terrible first quarter that left them trailing by 30 points.
But they pulled off a brilliant comeback, kicking six goals in the final quarter to win 14.13 (97) to 11.12 (78).
Lorne’s reserve side almost came back in a similarly impressive way in their preliminary final, but narrowly missed out on the grand final as Apollo Bay defeated them 9.2 (56) to 7.10 (52).
Their under 18 side did manage to make the final though, winning their preliminary final over Western Eagles 6.11 (47) to 6.3 (39).
The seniors grand final will begin at 2.20pm on Saturday September 7.
