STRONG scoring, a hole-in-one and several monthly medal winners headlined another busy week of golf across The Sands, Torquay and Anglesea.

At The Sands, Darren Bailey (23) opened the week by winning Monday 29 June’s medley stableford with 37 points.

Wednesday’s medley stableford saw Luke Muller (3) take out A-grade with 37 points, while Alan Hartley (16) led B-grade with 38.

Friday’s medley stableford was won by Darren Mathisen (23) with 36 points before Saturday’s anniversary day medley 4BBB stableford was claimed by Ben Coffey and Alex McMahon with 47 points, finishing two shots clear of Kenneth Adams and Justin Miles.

Sunday’s medley stableford rounded out the week with John Thompson (11) winning A-grade on 37 points, while Mark Henry (20) edged B-grade on countback after both leading players finished with 33.

Torquay’s week began with Emma Pearce (6) winning Monday’s medley stableford with 41 points.

Wednesday’s monthly medal stroke competition featured a hole-in-one from Peter Wills on the 15th, while Joe Cengic (15) claimed the monthly medal with a round of 71.

Gary Taylor (9) won A-grade stableford on countback with 37 points, while Andy Carmichael (16) took B-grade with 36.

Jo Johnson (45) won Thursday’s medley stableford with 36 points before Friday’s medley par saw Edward Wilson (2) and Trevor Butler (16) each post +3 to win A-grade and B-grade respectively.

Saturday’s monthly medal stroke was highlighted by Paul Brunt’s (7) winning round of 70.

Hugh Thompson (13) and Alex White (19) led the stableford grades with 41 and 40 points respectively, while Kaylene Potter (21) claimed the women’s monthly medal on countback after a round of 72.

Sunday’s stableford featured the best score of the week, with Noah McKee (45) amassing 48 points to comfortably win B-grade.

David Pugh (15) claimed A-grade with 38 points on countback, while Tim Diamond added an eagle on the 18th.

At Anglesea, Wednesday 1 July’s men’s monthly medal stableford saw Brian Virtue (29) take overall honours with 38 points on countback. Paul Lata (10) won A-grade with the same score, while Angus Daffy (19) claimed B-grade. The day was also highlighted by a hole-in-one from Mack Leslie.

Kate Stanley (41) won Thursday’s women’s monthly medal stableford with 32 points.

Saturday’s men’s and women’s monthly medal stableford produced some of the strongest scoring of the week.

Thomas Eskrigge (23) won the overall monthly medal with 42 points, while Tom Midolo (7) and Tony Tsiaves (20) claimed the A-grade and B-grade honours.

Jodie Moloney (31) led the women’s field with 40 points.

Sunday’s medley par was won by Jarryd McGuane (4) with +2, capping another competitive week across the region’s courses.
