TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – August 22, 2019

Tuesday August 13 change of pace for the ladies today with 4BBB Par. We had 44 players this week for the Red tees and our winning team of Jen Conn and Ros Lewis had +4 to win by one shot from runners up Jeanette Kent and Anne Staig with +3. Third place was taken out by Chris Barr and Kaylene Potter also on +3. Our 9-hole competition winner was Valma Davis scoring a very healthy +4.  NTPs Viv Nicol, Inge Oliver, Pam Stribley, Wendy Lawson. Helen Paull. Anne Staig hit the jackpot, and we are sure she will enjoy spending that in the golf shop.

Wednesday August 14 David Stephens shot 40points to take out A grade. B grade went to Peter Costello with 39 points and C grade winner Philip Brown had 37 points. Ray Frost took out the Resort win for the second time with 40points. Super six winners Blue Tees Trevor Carter 15points and Green Tees Ray frost 16 points. NTPs Rob Hawkins, Ross Martin, Evan Huebner, David Stephens and Bernie Hallinan the jackpot. Paul Walters in good form at the minute off his 1h’cap shot an eagle on the 2^nd and had 40 points and was runner up in A grade.

Friday August 16 Joe Cengic had 38 points to win for the men and Ian Foot had 36 points to be our runner up.  Christine Wilson was our ladies’ winner with 32 points. Former Golf shop team member Nicholas Treble took out the guest competition with 33 points he won the battle over Ted Kershaw though (current Golf shop employee) who only managed 28 points. Robert Muffet shot an eagle on the 18th and NTPs went to Wayne Barrett, Andy Clark and Brian Baranski won the jackpot pin.

Saturday August 17 was time for the men’s Black tees competition, 63 players were up for the challenge with Paul Walters taking out 1^st place shooting 41 points. B grade winner Nick Eccleston had 36points. 72 players stayed in our Blue tee competition and A grade winner Michael Vandewater shot 40 points. B grade was won by Peter Wills with the score of the day 43 points. Resort winner Roy Ball had 40 points and Lyn Moore had a good round and took out the ladies with 38points. NTPs Bob Manning, Inge Oliver, Lyndsey Dunstan, Ross Forbes, Darren Bartlett, Terry Lee, Paul Palimaka and Bob Manning also hit the jackpot.

Sunday August 18 Garry Smith shot 37 points to take out the mixed competition. Runner Up Joe Pannuzzo also had 37 points. NTPs Joe Magliano, Ron Fish and Rob Young the jackpot.
