Hidden arts festival appears
MUSICIANS, artists and wordsmiths will share their talents as part of Hide and Seek Festival across Moorabool Shire from today.
The regional arts fest offers unique experiences such as art trails and degustation dinners with free and low-cost events.
Tomorrow in Ballan, see secret and night garden installations at Ballan Arts Space or head to a musical theatre cabaret sing along at the Mechanics Institute.
On Sunday 3 November at Gordon, a performance by local Wadawurrung artist Barry Gilson is scheduled at Bostock Reserve. Attendees can also check out the Fairy Doors Arts Trail at Lyndhurst Street Public Park.
The following weekend, the festival will move to Blackwood, with a wind phone installation at the Blackwood Cemetery and a hidden treasures art exhibition at St Martin’s Chapel on Saturday 9 November.
The final day of the festival, Sunday 10 November, will see wild canary roving musical entertainment and wild animal farm at The Village, Bacchus Marsh as well as a poetry open mic, quilting exhibition and workshop at Blacksmiths Cottage and Forge Bookbarn.
“This is an event, or more accurately a series of fantastic events, not to be missed,” Moorabool Shire Council CEO Derek Madden said.
“Our entire shire is going to be humming with spring festivities during the festival and we encourage locals and visitors to get amongst it.”
