EXPRESSIONS of interest are being sought from community groups, clubs and organisations who would like to host an event as part of the Moorabool Shire’s 2026 Seniors Festival.

The program is part of the Victorian Seniors Festival, held throughout October to recognise and celebrate the important contributions of older people across the state.

This year’s theme is Connect, Create, Celebrate, aiming to bring people together to try something new.

Groups can host single activities or showcase existing programs, including workshops, creative classes, gentle fitness sessions, live music, cultural experiences, film screenings, community morning teas, open days, and come and try activities.

Free or low-cost events that are inclusive and accessible to everyone are encouraged.

Moorabool Shire mayor Cr Steve Venditti-Taylor said hosting an event is an opportunity to activate town spirit and pride.

“This is the best opportunity to showcase your organisation, attract new members, celebrate positive ageing, strengthen community connections and have your event promoted through council’s official Seniors Festival marketing, including the printed festival program and online channels,” he said.

Organisations will be responsible for planning and delivering their events, selecting dates and venues, and providing catering and entertainment.

Expressions of interest close on Sunday 26 July.

Events can be registered at moorabool.vic.gov.au/seniorsfestival
