MOMENTUM is already building for Pink Up Ballan 2026 in October as a way for the town to raise funds and awareness for the McGrath Foundation.
Nine events have been organised so far for the initiative which supports the work of McGrath Cancer Care Nurses.
Zest Cafe will host a Girls Night In where those gathered will enjoy a relaxed evening of food, activities and practical health information while raising funds.
Organiser Ros Gatt said the evening was about more than a social gathering.
“We wanted to create a night where women could come together, have some fun, enjoy each other’s company and, at the same time, learn something that could make a real difference to their lives or the lives of those they love,” Gatt said.

“Cancer affects every family in some way, and by supporting the McGrath Foundation we’re helping ensure more people can access the care and support they need when facing cancer.”
Meanwhile, the Ballan and District Chamber of Commerce is planning a Pink Cocktail Party at the Ballan Bakehouse on Saturday 17 October.
It’s expected to bring together business owners, community leaders and supporters for a night of fundraising.
A pink fashion parade is also being organised for Ballan Neighbourhood House. It will showcase pink clothing and accessories from Steptoe’s Op Shop.
Kevin Harper, chair of Pink Up Ballan 2026, said many members of the community and organisations in the town were working together for a common cause.
“What has been particularly encouraging is seeing members of the Ballan Autumn Festival Committee, the Chamber of Commerce and many other community volunteers working side by side for Pink Up Ballan 2026,” he said.
“Their willingness to open doors, make connections and engage with schools, aged care homes, sporting clubs, businesses and community groups has created a real sense of excitement throughout the district.”
Harper said anyone could contribute in their own way.
“The wonderful thing about Pink Up Ballan is that no contribution is too small,” he said.
“Some people may organise major fundraising events, while others may simply decorate a window, bake a cake, buy a raffle ticket or wear something pink.”
