Centre to host summer sports
FOR those looking to keep active and entertained at the same time over the school holidays, Moorabool Shire Council and Belgravia Leisure are offering young people just the solution.
Starting from Monday 13 January, the municipality will be hosting three days of summer sporting activities out of Bacchus Marsh’s MARC Stadium over the summer break as part of a multi-sport holiday camp.
Each day will see a full day of sports offerings from 9.30am to 2pm, with more than eight different types of sports to be delivered throughout the week.
Bookings opened early last month with participants able to take part at a cost of $30 a day depending on availability.
Basketball and pickleball will form the focus for the first day, followed by futsal, athletics and picnic games during subsequent sessions.
Handball will also feature in the program, and each session will be hosted by dedicated coaches.
The camp is for children aged
five to 12.
Participants can book via MARC Stadium’s Active World membership app found on the holiday program’s page on the facility’s website.
Once registered, participants will need to find the holiday program under the Book Weekly Lesson section.
Each day must be booked separately.
Participants can also book and pay for their involvement in the sessions in-person at the centre or over the phone.
The multi-sport holiday program has been held throughout school term breaks this year and has previously included activities like volleyball, mixed dodgeball and badminton.
Call MARC Stadium on 5367 3890 for more information on the upcoming schedule or to book.
