Man dies in hospital as police investigate alleged Murwillumbah assault

A man has died after an alleged assault in Murwillumbah, with police continuing investigations into the incident.
Emergency services were called to a home on Bellevue Avenue, Bray Park at about 4.30am on April 8 following reports of a man acting suspiciously.

Officers from Tweed/Byron Police Area Command attended and found a 34-year-old man with serious injuries after he had been detained by two men on the footpath.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to Gold Coast Hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established and detectives commenced an investigation under Strike Force Raison.

Police have since been notified the 34-year-old man died in hospital on April 10.
Several people at the scene have been spoken to and are assisting police with their inquiries.
