Search for missing man last seen in Byron Bay

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man who was last seen in Byron Bay.

Jaran McDonald, aged 36, was last seen on Thursday 19 February.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District were notified that he could not be located or contacted on Saturday 11 April 2026 and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Initial inquiries indicate that he may have travelled to Brisbane by bus.

Police and family have concerns for Jaran’s welfare as he lives with a number of health issues.

Jaran is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 186cm, medium build, brown collar length hair and a short brown beard.

It is not known what he may be wearing.
