TORQUAY business Coastal Grain is throwing its support behind Movember for the second year in a row, hoping to raise even more than it did in 2019.

At the halfway mark of Movember, the boys’ moustaches are in full swing, with some conceding they may have some catching up to do.

But while there is plenty of banter surrounding the mo’s, the boys, and the company as a whole, is stoked to be able to play their part for a cause that means a lot to them.

Company director Phil Reeves said a cause such as this was even more important given the year everyone had endured.

“This is the second year we’ve done Movember, we think it’s really important to get behind it, particularly with the year we’ve had. I think it’s really important in our industry, it’s been very stressful for a lot of us and we want to make sure guys and girls know that they can talk about it and we just think it’s a great cause.

“This year, me and all the boys are going have a go at growing a moustache, I’m not too sure how that’s going to go… (we’ll) hopefully raise a bit of cash.”

Fellow company director Cayley Reeves said the cause was certainly close to their hearts.

“This year has thrown some curve balls and seen difficult times for many. We have unfortunately seen families impacted by the devastation of mental health during these difficult times, so this year we are really trying to step it up and raise some money, but more importantly awareness.”

The business held a small golf day in 2019 and raised $1,800. This year, there will be an afternoon later this month at Bomboras Torquay with a pop-up bar, food truck, live music, raffles and guest speakers.
