THE ladder-leading Heathcote is on home greens for Saturday’s twelfth round of Division Three action in the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields bowls weekend pennant.

It’s first against third as the Saints take on Serpentine.

When these teams met in round five it was Serpentine which dominated play to record an 18-90 to 0-55 victory.

A nine-shot triumph at Eaglehawk last Saturday consolidated Heathcote’s place at top of the ladder.

The Adam Luxford-skipped rink led by 18 shots after seven ends on the way to a 33-10 result at the home of the Hawks while Maurice Lee won 19-14.

The Bill Gardiner and Chris Morcom-skipped rinks were beaten by five and 14 shots.

After the last bowl, Heathcote led 79-70 in the Borough.

In division six, Heathcote will play at Kangaroo Fla where it’s fifth against sixth as both teams have 5-6 records.

The Saints are on the rebound from a 10-shot loss at Eaglehawk.

Brian Berger won by six shots, but Grant Baker and Denis Kilner went down by two and 14 shots.

It was hot and humid conditions for the midweek pennant match on Monday.

Heathcote was beaten by division two opponent Bendigo East, 77-47.

A highlight was a 22-18 win by Dot Cutajar’s rink after being down by five shots on the 18th end.

Lorraine Speirs was beaten, 16-28, and Eileen Brown’s rink endured a 31-9 loss.

This Monday, Heathcote is at home to play Harcourt.
