On Tuesday 21st July 2026, all APCO Service Station stores will celebrate the fourth annual APCO Foundation Kindness Day. This year’s theme is Everyday Heroes, a celebration of the real people who show up for their communities when it matters most, with the Foundation aiming to raise $250,000 across Kindness Month with every in-store donation doubled by generous matching partners.
On Kindness Day, every APCO store will be buzzing, with teams dressing up and each store’s Wall of Everyday Heroes on display, filled with the names of local heroes chosen by customers throughout July. A mum. A neighbour. A nurse. A coach. Anyone who showed up when it mattered.
Behind the celebration is a simple mission. The APCO Foundation gives fast, practical financial support to individuals and families facing crisis.
“While others take weeks or months to process applications, we act within days,” says APCO Foundation Chairperson Sharon Gleeson. “We’re the Foundation for people who fall through the cracks. The elderly pensioner who can’t afford rent, the young mum fleeing family violence, families facing unexpected illness. Kindness Day is our way of celebrating every person who makes that work possible.”
APCO Service Stations Director Rob Anderson says the Foundation reflects what the family business has always believed. “Our stores sit at the heart of their communities, and Kindness Day is the day that really shows. I could not be prouder of our Foundation, our teams and our customers. Every heart on those walls is someone local being thanked for their kindness, and every dollar raised goes back to the communities that gave it.”
This year the Foundation’s ambassadors are Amy McDonald and her son Freddie, a family who received support from the Foundation when Freddie was born with complications.
How you can support
• Buy a Kindness Heart: $2, $5, $10 or $20 at the counter all July. Write your hero’s name on it and see it join the Wall of Everyday Heroes.
• Enjoy a coffee: 20 cents from every cup sold in July goes to the Foundation.
• Foundation products: APCO Foundation Lollies, Chill Water, the new Foundation drink range, and socks and beanies all include donations.
• Donate directly: visit apcofoundation.com.au.
Every donation made in-store during July is doubled by the Foundation’s matching partners. Your kindness goes twice as far, all month long.
