THE Lions Club of Mount Gambier recently met to consider their annual funds dispersion to the local community before the commencement of the new Lions year in July.
The local Lions clubs raise funds across our community in numerous ways with the sale of Christmas cakes, Bunnings BBQs and the Lions food van along with other many activities and these funds are distributed to support local community groups to utilise in their assistance and community activities.
From the 2025/26 year the club board recommended that the sum of $17,500 be distributed to provide support to people in need through their various activities.
Club members readily supported the board’s recommendation that the distribution should proceed as presented.
Members recognise that many people in the community are finding it difficult to sustain their day to day costs of living and had a desire to assist groups working to provide help to those who are struggling.
Across a wide range of activities some 20 groups within our community were allocated funds to assist with their activities within our community.
