ON a fine and clear day 32 ladies from the Mount Gambier Golf Club participated in the final round of the Hudson Plumbing and Roofing stableford event last Wednesday.

Because of the weather better scores were hard earned with Division 1 Jan Shanahan (Handicap 16) playing three under her handicap securing a win with 39 points.

Jan’s split was 21/18=39 points registering seven three pointers with the only blemish for the day was on the 11h Par 5 Hole.

Second place in Division 1 went to the in form Val Grubb (Handicap 21) with her split for the two nines being 15/23 = 38 points.

Val capped off the day with a birdie on the last hole earning four points, plus three points on the 17th Par 5 Hole.

Val had a genuine 92 off the stick.

Division 2 winner went to a very enthusiastic Christine Morrision (Handicap 33) with 19/20=39 points.

Chris’s score was attained with four points on th Par 3, 6th Hole, plus eight three pointers.

Consistency was the winning factor for her great score.

Runner Up in Division 2 ,went to the mother of our sponsor, Lyn Hudson (Handicap 32) with 20/19=39 points losing out on a countback.

Lyn also had a four pointer on the 8th, Par 3 Hole plus five three pointers.

Golfers in the ball rundown where eight balls were given out to Helen Gregory 38 points down to Faye Mainwaring 32 points on a countback.

The speciality prizes went to Helen Heaver winning the NTP on the Par 3, 8th Hole and Val Grubb won the prize for the Best Back Nine with 23 points.

There will be no competition this week due to the State Event, the Bronze Salver being hosted by the Mount Gambier Golf Club over a three day Event.JULY 18 RESULTS

Twenty-one ladies competed in the difficult Par Round last Saturday, played in good weather thus good scores were the result.

The only player to play below her handicap was popular Carol Smith (Handicap 25) with her scorecard showing 1 Up.

Carol’s score was 2 down on the front nine and 3 Up on the difficult back nine = 1 Up to take out the winning placing.

Getting back into golf once again Christine Morrison (Handicap 32) took out second placing coming in all square on the day.

Chris’s split for the two nines was 1 Down/ 1 Up = Square and finished off her game with wins on the last three holes.
