Watson blitzes the field
ON April 2, 14 ladies competed at the Lucindale Country Club in the Monthly Medal stroke round sponsored by Ballogie and it was the 1st Qualifying round of Elders Club Championship.
It was also the first round of the International Bowl competition which is open to all female golfers who hold a Golf Australia handicap and are affiliated with Golf Australia (SA).
The competition is 18-hole stroke play (nett) in two divisions run and managed by the club and played over three rounds.
Huge congratulations to Megan Watson who played incredibly good golf and blitzed the field. Her fantastic putting finesse (27) helped her score a sensational nett 69.
Consequently,she was the April Monthly Medal winner, A Grade gross winner with 87, A Grade Nett as well as putting winner for that grade.
A Grade nett runner up was Rachel Smith with a fine score of 73.
The B Grade nett winner was Cath Macleod on 73 and runner up was the ladies golf captain Fionna McInnes on 74, winning on a countback from Angela Malpas.
Kerry Gilkes was best with the putter in B Grade with 30 putts.
NTP winner on the 3rd was Karen Gould, 12th & 16th was Jacki Baker and Fionna McInnes was B Grade NTP on the 16th.
It was great to see Sharon Menz back playing golf and thanks to Angela Malpas who rewarded the competing players with a magnificent lunch.
