LORNE Community Connect will this month host a unique showcase featuring the work of more than 20 talented local artists spanning the Surf Coast to the Bellarine Peninsula.

Each of the exhibiting artists has teamed up with acclaimed Anglesea metalwork artist and art consultant Cinnamon Stephens to help connect their wide-ranging works with art lovers across the region.

Employing the experience and art connections she has forged over her 30-year career, Mrs Stephens launched her art consultancy business earlier this year and offers her clients assistance in finding their perfect piece of art, from sourcing and commissioning artworks through to hanging and rearranging art within the home.

The “Art to You” showcase will run from September 20-29 and place Mrs Stephens’ services firmly in the spotlight, giving locals the unique opportunity to meet with her, learn more about her consultancy work and to begin exploring the possibilities available to them.

The range of artworks on offer is broad, spanning mediums such as painting, printmaking, sculpture and glass, and styles such as traditional realism and abstract figurative works.

Mrs Stephens can even connect her clients with jewellery “because art doesn’t just have to hang on the wall”.

Mrs Stephens will be in attendance daily from 11am-4pm and said while there will be plenty of art to view in person, what’s on display is just the “tip of the iceberg” as she will have portfolios for each artist available for perusal.

“It’s like a mini affordable art fair.

“It’s just a chance for people to see a wide range of work… and if they are looking for art, that’s what I’m all about.

“Once I meet a person, that’s when the magic starts to flow because you’re relating, and I can get a sense of what they like and what they don’t like.

“Sometimes people are a bit hesitant to trust their feelings and I think that’s where I step in and just allow them to trust [themselves]. Most people know what they like and what they don’t like, and that’s where it starts.”

The community will also have the opportunity to meet with some of the exhibiting artists over drinks and nibbles at the show’s official launch event on September 21 between 1-3pm.

And for those looking for a piece that Mrs Stephens doesn’t currently have in her portfolios, she said she is more than happy to look beyond her existing network and work with her clients to find their perfect piece.
