The list of countries named as "high-risk" are South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Seychelles, Malawi, and Mozambique.

SEVERAL state governments including Victoria have announced major changes to travel procedures for people arriving from high-risk countries in response to the new Omicron COVID-19 variant.

As of 11.59pm yesterday (Saturday, November 27), all international travellers arriving into Victoria who have visited South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Eswatini, Seychelles, Malawi, and Mozambique in the past 14 days are required to undertake 14 days’ hotel quarantine, regardless of their vaccination status.

All other international travellers arriving in Victoria who are already fully vaccinated, aged below 12 and 2 months or have a valid medical exemption are required to quarantine for 72 hours upon arrival.

Arriving passengers from the listed high-risk countries will be provided with a notice upon arrival with more information regarding requirements, which includes testing.
