GOLF balls again rained from the sky at Spring Creek Reserve on Friday as Torquay Football Club, Cricket Club and Netball Club staged the third Tiger Drop.

A thousand golf balls were dropped from a helicopter hovering over the oval, and the three closest to the pin in the middle won prizes of $15,000 (Shaun and Stacey Ryan from Torquay), $3,500 (Andy Nield from Barwon Heads) and $1,000 (Deb and Garry Minto from Torquay), respectively.

Other entertainment throughout the night included bands, children’s activities, jumping castles and food trucks.

In a post on social media, organisers thanked the Torquay community for getting behind the event, which will help fund new rooms for the netball club and improve the football and cricket club’s facilities.

“A massive shout out to Tim Carson and Luke Hayward for putting in so much work to ensure the success of the night.

“The night would not run without the volunteer hours of the committee and players of the football, netball and cricket club helping out with the setup, pack up, bar, canteen and activities. Great work everyone!”
