Kids ready to go wild with return of KAOS

The KAOS outdoor adventure festival aims at engaging children and their families in the outdoors and nature, while influencing ongoing participation in a huge variety of activities.

HUNDREDS of kids are set to go wild in Anglesea during the April school holidays as the popular Kids Adventure Outdoors (KAOS) festival returns for the fourth year on April 7-8.

The fully-facilitated weekend showcases a raft of outdoor recreational activities, camps and youth organisation programs in and around the stunning coastal town of Anglesea.

Kids aged 3-13 years old will experience a range of active adventures including rides, runs, climbs, paddles and plenty more ‘wild’ things!

“It’s about getting more kids more active in the outdoors more often,” event spokesperson Vicki Chrzanowski said.

Ms Chrzanowski is manager of the YMCA Recreation Camp, one of the host locations for activities.

Now in its fourth successful year, this exciting outdoor adventure festival aims at encouraging children and their families to get more active in the outdoors and nature, while influencing ongoing participation in a huge variety of activities.

The weekend program kicks off with Saturday showcasing a full day’s activities with sessions starting from 9am until 4.30pm, and Sunday sees a half day of activities with sessions starting 9am until 12pm.

“This year kids will see new activities being added to the roster including a mini Commonwealth games, hosted at the Anglesea Family Caravan Park; Rockpool Ramble on Saturday morning and Sunday morning and a special Grand Finale closing ceremony on Sunday from midday, with a free sausage sizzle.”

Other popular favourites at KAOS, include surfing, camping, mountain biking, canoeing, fishing, and stand up paddle-boarding and plenty more, parents can assure that they will safely get their children engaged in a range of outdoor activities that make the most of nature’s playground.

Parents can attend for free while single child tickets are $90 per child for a full day of activities on Saturday or $50 per child for a half a day of activities on Sunday. The whole weekend of activities costs $140.

There is also an option for kids and adults to camp overnight, prices start at $100 per child including camping or $150 per child for the whole weekend including camping.

Parents and any other little siblings can camp for just $25 per extra person. All camp out participants will join in on fun activities, aimed to enhance their camp out experience.
