Say hello to Torquay’s new laundry service

AS a mother and working woman, Simone Gray understands the stress that comes with running a household and a business simultaneously.

Mouths to feed, errands on the to-do-list and phone calls to return, Simone and husband Michael hope their newly established business, Torquay Laundry Hub, can create convenience for both domestic homes and businesses in the area.

The business model – which offers a free pick-up and drop-off service – is unlike most laundry services in the 3228, and perhaps this point of difference is why Simone is so excited to have launched it.

Simone says she felt inspired after noticing a gap in the market when she was operating a cleaning business some years ago.

“We’re not a laundromat, we’re fully self-serviced. We will do everything for you. We will pick up and we will drop off – all you have to do is make a call or send an email,” says Simone.

“Our main aim is if you’re doing it (washing) at home, or you’re working and your business has washing that you’re taking home with you, meaning towels or sheets from your day spa, physio, chiro or dentist, let us take that from you.”

Using commercial washing machines and dryers out of a factory on Cylinder Drive, Simone and her team spend many hours washing, drying, ironing and folding items before delivering them to homes and businesses within 24 to 48 hours post pick-up.

Simone says while it took a long time to develop a pricelist, this ensured she and Michael could deliver the best service possible.

“The goal is to eliminate the stress and pressure from people who don’t have time to do their washing,” she says.

Torquay Laundry Hub is also dry-cleaning agent.

Torquay Laundry Hub is located at Factory 18, 10 Cylinder Drive, Torquay. For more information, visit instagram.com/torquaylaundryhub, facebook.com/TorquayLaundryHub, phone Simone on 0491 618 430 or email [email protected].
