THE Surf Coast Shire has earmarked seven proposals for community projects across the municipality for consideration in its future budgets.

Councillors received the March 2019 Community Project Development recommendations at their meeting last month.

The seven projects, their estimated budgets and the funding strategies to build them are:
• The Helen Mary Kininmonth Kindergarten Playground Rejuvenation Proposal, $91,000, with the shire to contribute 44 per cent from future Council Asset Renewal Programs when specified fixed assets are scheduled for replacement and the
community to contribute 56 per cent for new or significantly upgraded asset works to be delivered over five years
• The Bob Pettitt Reserve Outdoor Performance Space Proposal (also known as Jan Juc Live), $144,750, with the shire to contribute 75 per cent and the community to contribute 25 per cent
• The Wurdale Reserve Plan Stage 2 Works Proposal, $48,500, with the shire to contribute 70 per cent and the community to contribute 30 per cent
• The Spring Valley Park Informal Ball Games Area Proposal, $42,000m with the shire to contribute 100 per cent
• The Deans Marsh Reserve Fitness Element Installation Proposal, $16,500, with the shire and the community to contribute 50 per cent each
• The Zeally Sands Playground/Park Upgrade Proposal, $56,900, with the shire to contribute 75 per cent and the community to contribute 25 per cent, and
• The Anglesea Community Resale Shed Works Proposal, $50,000, with the shire to contribute 75 per cent and the community to contribute 25 per cent.

The shire has also referred four projects from the Community Project Proposal Master List to the council’s community project development officer for investigation in the April-June quarter: the Kalkarra Park Playspace basketball pad extension, Freshwater Creek Riding Club fencing/ground works, sealing the pathway between courts at
Torquay Tennis Club, and Anglesea Art House car park and landscape works.

The Community Project Proposal Master List presently includes 21 outstanding project proposals, with three new community project proposals registered in the past quarter (between October 25 and February 8).
