A TORQUAY father and son have put one foot in front of the other to raise funds for men’s mental health.

Tim and Ollie Watson completed the Spoke to a Bloke Walk in Melbourne this past weekend.

The duo walked 25km alongside 250 other men to raise awareness and funds for men’s mental health intervention and programs.

The Watson family lost their son/brother just over a year ago due to a battle with mental illness.

More than 250 people completed the Spoke to a Bloke Walk in Melbourne.

Tim Watson said the walk was a wonderful way to embrace a great cause.

“We had some really good conversations along the way, different stories, and that’s what it’s designed to do.”

Mr Watson said he and Ollie were able to raise more than $2,500; five times their initial target.

“To raise that amount of money was amazing. We didn’t expect it at all. $500 would have great, but to get to $2,500 was incredible!

“The APCO in Barwon Heads helped raise over $500 for us too. We are super thankful.”

More than $43,000 was raised at the Melbourne walk alone.

Walks were also undertaken in other Australian states as well as internationally in London and Zurich.
