TORQUAY GOLF CLUB – December 20, 2018

December 20, 2018 BY

TUESDAY was the ladies Christmas party day and in some weird and wacky outfits the girls took to the course in beautiful sunny weather.

The game was drop out Ambrose, but today was not about the golf and more about the lunch and to see some of our fellow golfers come together to celebrate Christmas.

It was also good to see some of our elder lady members come out, they may not play anymore but they do love a drink and a
catch up. Results for the game, our winning team was Mandy Buckley, Robyn Westacott, Sheena Scholten and Lesley Beltrame with 62.125.

The runners-up were Wendy Lawson, Jenny McGaw, Rosemary Farrell and Anne Udvardy also scoring 62.125. NTPs Wendy Lawson, Kathy Simson, Joan Thomson, Gill Pattenand Anne Staig hit the jackpot. Michelle Hayes had the straightest drive. Well done to the ladies committee for the decorations on the tables which looked beautiful, the food was great and by all accounts so were the drinks.

Wednesday it was par for the men and A Grade winner Phillip Smith shot +5. B Grade went to Ken McCallum with +6. Rex
Dale took out C Grade scoring an impressive +9. Ray Rashleigh was our D Grade winner scoring +5. Resort winner was Ron Hedley +4. NTPs Evan Heubner, Wes Matthews, Fred Pyke, Trevor Bell, Laurie Taylor and John Bishop hit the jackpot.

Friday there was a small field of just 47 men due to the rain. Although not good for a game of golf it was really needed by the course as it helps to fill the dams for the summer months.

Getting out early was Michael Barrow and he had the score of the day with 45pts. Five ladies were keen to have a hit and with 33pts Wanda Paterson was our winner. Ron fish was our runner up scoring 38pts. NTPs Ashley Cormick, Margot Bradley, Ron Fish and Garry Smith hit the jackpot.
