Captain’s team takes the win

IT was a stableford round at the Mount Gambier Golf Club and the field of 39 players were divided into Chairperson v Captain Salver teams with the event kindly sponsored by Anne Schrapel.

The course once again was the winner with the winter conditions keeping most of the scores low.

Captain Bernie Jennings’ team won the day with an average score of 29.5 points against the Chairperson Jan Shanahan’s team on 28.3 points.

An individual competition was also contested on the day.

RESULTS

Division 1

Winner:

Bernie Jennings 35 points. A great day for Bernie not only winning her division on the day but also leading her team to regain the salver. A very consistent round with 17 points on the front 9 and 18 on the back 9 which also included 6 pars for the day.

Runner Up:

Helen Gregory close behind on 34 points. Helen also played better on the back 9 with 18 points.

Division 2

Winner:

Sharyn Emetlis 37 points. Sharyn had the best score for the day and played a great front 9 with 22 points including 3 pars.

Runner Up:

Jill Johnson 33 points on a count back. Jill had a much better back 9 scoring 20 points.

Helen Gregory/ Faye Mainwaring 64 points on countback

Runners Up: Helen Heaver/Faye Mainwaring 64 points.

These three ladies all scored 32 points individually and as Faye was the lowest handicap she paired with both on the day.
