Runner up Denise Harvey congratulating winner Carol Davis

THE final of the Handicap Championship for 2025 was finalised last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, played in rather cold and windy conditions.

The match was between Denise Harvey and Carol Davis.

After a marathon game, with only one hole difference all day, Davis was able to get over the line on the 24th Hole and became the 2025 Handicap Champion.

The Match was adjudicated by club captain Bernie Jennings and both players were to be commended on the spirit in which the match was played.

Played in conjunction with the handicap final was a stableford event for the rest of the lady golfers and with 37 points Maxine McGregor (Handicap 36) in Division 2 had the best score of the day and took out first placing.

In second placing came the often mentioned in the winners circle Gail Watson (Handicap 40) who had 36 points (playing to her Handicap).

Division 1 winner, who also had 37 points, was Helen Heaver (Handicap 23) who played the front nine with 21 points plus accumulating 16 points on the Back Nine. Helen had two wipe-outs on the 13th and 14th difficult holes which detracted from her score.

Second placing in Division 1 went to Andrea Pegler (Handicap 23) with a nice score of 35 points.

Nine Balls were handed out in the ball rundown and went to Penne Saffin (34 points) down to Deb Fowler 32 points.

NTP winning three balls went to Maxine McGregor.
