Family battles in pairs decider

THE Mount Gambier RSL & District Bowling Club held the Men’s and Ladies Pairs Championship over the weekend.

The ladies had 10 teams fighting out for the crown to be the Pairs Champions.

The semi finals were played between Di Adams and Fiona Pearson who defeated Lyn Evans and Jo Sykes and in the other semi final Keisha Pearson and Jennifer Bowering defeated Shirley McIntyre and Sandi Elliott.

The final was played on Saturday with Keisha Pearson and Jennifer Bowering winning the 2026 Ladies Pairs Championship over Di Adams and Fiona Pearson.

The Men’s Pairs Championship was contested with 23 teams.

The semi finals were held over to the Sunday with Gary Bowering and Ralph Stafford defeating Alan Stewart and Harry Childs in the first semi and the second semi was taken out by Wayne Legutko who substituted for Ron Ploenges and Ian MacIntosh over Garry Fox and Michael Fox.

The final ended up being level on the last end and an extra end was played with Wayne Legutko and Ian MacIntosh winning the 2026 Men’s Pairs Championship over Gary Bowering and Ralph Stafford.
