Handicap revision on the cards for Davey
WITH the weather behaving very ambiguously it is guess work from one day to the next stepping onto the fairways but is was a mild, cool day for the women teeing off in the Park Hotel stableford event at the Blue Lake Golf Club on January 21.

JANUARY 17 PAR COMPETITION
In perfect summer weather conditions 30 women teed up for the par competition and as any golfer knows par is one of the harder scoring games with no room for many mistakes.
The winner Caroline Davey would have been very pleased with her efforts signing for +3.
Playing off a 37 handicap she will expect a call from the handicapper.
She would have wondered what could have been even better looking at the three wipes on her scorecard.
Not only did Davey take the top voucher in the women’s section but she won the overall par competition voucher sponsored by Jens Hotel and going into the monthly par rounds draw for 2026.
Runner up was Helen Myers not far behind with +1 off her 17 handicap, also with three wipes on her card it was still a great score.
Wendy Burley was third on the podium with all square off her 40 handicap.
Lee Anderson, 34 handicap, won fourth place voucher with all square after a countback with Burley and Karen Panagopoulos all square as well.
Those in the ball rundown were Mandy Bartholomew-1, countback Alison Mullan -1, Ronda Edwards-2 countback Sonia Solly -2, Helen Stratford-3.
Nearest to pin on the 5th was Davey.
