South East Autotrade Highgun: Andrew Hoare congratulates winner Jamie Dunn

THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition last Saturday with sunshine, showers and some windy conditions but the shooters were still able to obtain some high scores and shoot offs were needed to ascertain the winners.

The opening event was the the Jens Hotel 50 Tgt Eastern Zone Skeet Qualifier Championship, which was enthusiastically shot with competitors showing off their skills as Liz Rymill 48/50 won AA, Ken Atkin 48/50 just won A from Greg Kessegian 47/50, Jamie Dunn 50/50 won overall and took B from Rolf Bugden 46/50 and Darren Murrell 42/50 just edged out Brian Spring 41/50 to win C..

The OG Roberts & Co 25 Tgt Balltrap Championship was up next and this event was exceptionally well shot.

It was greatly appreciated that Bryce Roberts attended to present the prizes to the winners, including Andrew Hoare 23/25 who won AA from Jamie Dunn 21/25, Ken Atkin 23/25 won A from Max Medhurst 24/28 , after a quick shoot off Daniel Robinson 23/28 just edged out Wally Wombwell 22/28 to win B and Peter Winser 16/26 won C from Andrew Jenkins 16/27.

The Creek Livestock 25 Tgt Pointscore Championship was the last competition with Andrew Hoare securing the top score of of 74/75 to win AA from Jamie Dunn 100/102, Matthew Robinson 74/75 won A from Max Medhurst 72/75 , Peter Winser 71/75 took B from Garry Allison 68/75 and Wally Wombwell 68/75 just won C grade from Garry Bowd 67/75..

The South East Autotrade Highgun over the three events was won by Jamie Dunn with a top score of 144/150.

The club has practice every Friday afternoon and the next monthly competition will be held on Saturday, November 8.
