Ladies Golf Competition

Winning team Helen Heaver, Mardi Goodes & Bev Pedlar and runners up Vicki Clark, Jan Shanahan & Di Norman.

IT was a very windy day for 39 ladies to take part in the very popular Gentsome Competition, generously sponsored by Carol Smith and Janina Morrison, at the Mount Gambier Golf Club.

This event is seldom played and it includes a team of three players hitting the best drive from the tee, then playing from that drive with ones own ball to score stableford points.

The three ladies to team up to take out first place were Helen Heaver, Mardi Goodes and Bev Pedlar with a great score of 93 points.

The trio had 47points on the front nine and 46 points on the back nine = 93 points and included two birdies on their scorecard.

Second place, two points behind, were Vicki Clark, Jan Shanahan and Di Norman registering 91 points, consisting of a split of 45/46=91 points.

Included in their score were three birdies on te 4th, 9th and 11th holes.

Nine balls were given out to the next three teams for their good scores and went to Janina Morrison, Di O’Donnell, Carol Smith, Linda Boylan, Kate McCormick, Denise Harvey, Jeannette Braun and Jane Lamont.

2nd Shot on the Par 3, 10th Hole went to A Grade – Leanne Hunt, B Grade – Kate McCormick and C Grade – Sue McPherson.

Pro Shot on the 8th, Par 3 Hole went to Denise Harvey.
