WANDERERS v Concordes United

Wanderers took on Concordes United for the annual CFS round, both teams looking for a win as the season finish is in sight.

Wanderers started the field with Carissa Richard’s starting strong on the pitch, taking leadoff batter Rosie Clark with a K2.

Thomson walked and brooks singled before white brought them home.

Richard’s took another k2 before Jerri-Lee Cooper found herself out by Lily Clifford Finch at first.

Fiona Finch led of for green with a cheeky triple sliding into third.

She was scored off a sac bunt by smith.

Clifford-Finch was caught at third and Kaigg was struck out leaving Morris and Frankenburg on base.

Tekani and Rosie Clark both walked and advanced in some wild pitches before Wanderers changed up the pace and brought Smith in to replace Richard.

Tekani was put out by Clifford-Finch who nearly had the double.

Clifford-Finch took the next out before Pollard was struck out but not before Concordes increased their tally to four.

Wanderers were now chasing runs and instructed to be patient in the batting box, this paid off putting some runners on bases when Bec White gave up some walks in the mound.

Wanderers took advantage of some errors and sneaky base running pressure putting 10 runs on the board and heading back in for their last field.

Brooks and Thomson singled and Concordes clawed back two more runs before heading back to field.

Wanderers final bat added two more runs ending the game with a 13-6 victory.Bandits v Warriors White

The Bandits secured a convincing 12–4 win over Warriors White after a strong all-round performance, having taken the field first.

Bandits opened in the field and immediately set the tone defensively, working through the Warriors White batting order and limiting early damage.

Warriors White were able to manufacture runs through patient at-bats, but the Bandits’ defence held firm.

In reply, the Bandits came to the plate with intent, capitalising on early opportunities to post runs and gain the early advantage.

A well-placed hit to left and great base running utilising Warriors errors saw Mackenzie Millard cross home plate on her first at bat.

Warriors White looked to respond in the second, stringing together hits and advancing runners, however the Bandits again tightened in the field to restrict scoring.

The Bandits’ bats remained productive, adding further runs through solid contact and smart base running to extend their lead.

Millard yet again hitting left yet again and having a spectacular safe home run bringing Deb Hicks home with her.

The third inning saw Warriors White continue to battle, pushing runners into scoring positions and adding to their total.

Despite the pressure, the Bandits remained composed defensively.

At bat, the Bandits continued to build momentum, taking advantage of walks and hits to keep runs flowing.

Warriors White showed persistence, working hard for their runs, but the Bandits’ defence proved reliable once again, closing down innings efficiently.

The Bandits answered back with another productive inning at the plate, widening the margin and maintaining control of the game.

With the game firmly in hand, the Bandits finished strongly.

Warriors White were unable to mount a late comeback as the Bandits closed out the innings cleanly in the field.

The Bandits added their final runs to seal the result.

The match showcased the Bandits’ depth, with consistent batting throughout the order and disciplined fielding proving the difference across the innings.

Demons v Warriors Blue

For the last game of CFS round, Demons faced Warriors Blue on Diamond One.

Taylor Pearson started the batting line up for Warriors with a hot line drive to second base, the exceptional bat was met by Chelsea Feasts glove in either a defence of skill or luck.

Maddy Bignell and Leyna Bruggemann were patient in the box while Cody Manning found her groove on the mound and earnt themselves walks.

Angela Queale, known for her love of third base line hit out to left and the Dees made a play to third for the second out.

Manning finished the innings with her first K2 of the game and Warriors scored 0.

Em Hart starting the batting with a safe hit to left, Manning was walked to first before a safe hit from Kezia Feast to left moved her to third where she was caught in a trap play which eventually got her home and landed Feast on third base.

A misfield from left field got Meg Merrett on first and Katelyn Laube batted her around in a sacrifice performance.

Demons put five on the board.

Warriors were three up three down in the second with 2 K2s and a tag play at second from Feast.

Bella Morale slogged a double bagger to centre field.

Manning and Merrett joined the batting frenzy with safe hits before an in field fly situation ended the Demons offence as they added another five.

Warriors cool heads awarded them two walks to one before Maddy Sutherland safe hit to left moved them around bases and scored Bignell at the plate as Warriors scored thier only run.
