IT is a special weekend upcoming for Maddie Redman as she celebrates her 250th appearance for Hatherleigh Netball Club.

Maddie began her netball journey with the Eagles in 2000 as a junior and has grown into an exciting, talented and fearless defender who has been a cornerstone of our club for many years.

Her determination, competitiveness and loyalty to the Eagles have made her one of Hatherleigh’s most respected players both on and off the court.

Maddie’s junior career was filled with success and achievements.

She was part of the Under 13 premiership side in 2002, where she was also awarded Best on Court, before backing it up with another premiership in 2003 under coach Lorraine Faulkner.

At just 15 years old, Maddie made her A Grade debut at Tantanolla, coached by Michelle Skeer — a sign of the talent and potential she displayed from such a young age.

Her junior accolades included:

• 2002 Under 13 Best & Fairest

• 2003 Runner Up Best & Fairest

• 2004 Under 17 Best & Fairest

• 2005 Under 17 Best & Fairest

• 2005 Junior Consistency Award

• 2006 Under 17 Best & Fairest

• 2006 Junior Consistency Award

Throughout her entire career, Maddie has remained a one-club player, earning numerous individual honours across both junior and senior netball.

She has proudly represented the Mid South East Association at Country Championships on multiple occasions and was selected in Team of the Year several times.

A highlight of her representative career came in 2018 when she was part of the winning Country Championships side.

Predominantly playing in defence, Maddie is known for her courage, determination, and ability to read the play.

Her strength, skill, and fearless approach make her a key pillar in the defence line, consistently impacting games with her intercepts and pressure.

Maddie’s senior achievements further reflect her consistency and commitment to the game:

• 2018 A Grade Runner Up Best & Fairest

• 2019 A Grade Best & Fairest

• 2023 A Grade Runner Up Best & Fairest

• 2024 A Reserve Runner Up Best & Fairest

Off the court, Maddie’s contribution to the Hatherleigh Football and Netball Club has been just as significant.

She served on the Netball committee from 2022–2025, she is always willing to step up and umpire and continually gives back to the club wherever needed.

In 2022, Maddie also participated in the MND Big Freeze, showing her willingness to support important causes within the wider community.

Maddie coached the A Reserve side in 2022, team managed the Under 11 football side in 2024 and 2025 and is currently the Team Manager of the Junior Colts.

Maddie is strongly supported by her husband Scott and their two boys, Kolton and Spencer, who are a big part of the Hatherleigh community alongside her.
