Medhurst back in form
Division 2 third place Carolyn Melhuish with winner Dianne Allen & Division 1 third place Geraldine Scott, runner up Sally Houlihan & winner Lee-Anne Medhurst
AFTER a full on program for the Wednesday women at the Blue Lake Golf Club the past few weeks and with all major competitions completed it was nice for 26 players to ease into a stableford competition last Wednesday.
It was a welcome return to the podium in Division 1 for Lee-Anne Medhurst after signing for 37 points off a 26 handicap.
Medhurst did well after facing a little bit of adversity from her golf cart wanting to tell her ‘you are in a no-go zone’ but she dealt with it extremely well finishing with splits of 16/21 that included eight three pointers, three of which were from pars on the 5th, 12th and 14th holes.
Runner up Sally Houlihan off a 21 handicap also posting 37 points faced a countback with Medhurst and having only been at the Blue Lake Club for several months is getting a handle on the course of late.
Splits of 19/18 included par three pointers on the 2nd, 3rd 4th, 11th and 12th, along with a three pointer on the 18th.
Third was the newly elected life member Geraldine Scott signing for 35 points off her 28 handicap after splits of 18/17 that included five three-pointers, two of them from pars on the 5th and 15th.
The Division Two winner Dianne Allen also made a welcome return to the podium scoring 36 points off her 44 handicap.
Her splits of 18/18 came from scoring on every hole three three pointers, 12 two pointers and three one pointers.
Runner up with 36 points also was Johanna Gogan going to a countback with Allen.
Gogan played off a 39 handicap and scored 20 points on the front nine and 16 on the back.
