O’Donnell & Douglas combine for victory

A large field of 24 pairs of lady golfers competed in the popular 2 Person Ambrose event played at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Wednesday.

The course was presented in an immaculate condition, although the very windy conditions made the day very trying and tiring.

The pair to competently handle the conditions were the winning couple of Di O’Donnell and Marie Douglas (Handicap 12) with a split of 37/43=Gross 80-Nett 68.

Di and Marie commenced the game with birdies on the 1st and 3rd holes and continued playing very consistently with nine pars on their scorecard.

Second placing went to Libby Altschwager and Andrea Pegler(Handicap 13) with a split of 41/42-80=Nett 70.

The pairing had a birdie on the 3rd hole plus seven pars.

Eighteen balls were handed out to numerous players, who all registered birdies, with the 3rd hole proving the most popular.

Speciality prizes went to Linda Boylan for NTP on the Par 3, 8th Hole.

Long Drives on the 9th, Par 4 Hole went to A Grade – Jess Parsons, B Grade Helen McIntrye and C Grade – Deb Fowler.

NOVEMBER 29 RESULTS

Another stableford competition for ladies at the Mount Gambier Golf Club was played in quite pleasant conditions and the course was looking pristine.

First Place went to Vicki Clark (Handicap 27) with a good score of 40 points, the split being 22/18=40 points.

Vicki had a great day of scoring having a five pointer on the 7th hole, plus two other four points with birdies on the 5th and 15th holes.

Second place was Penne Saffin (Handicap 23) playing one under her handicap, 37 Points made up of 16 points on the front nine and 21 points on the back nine = 37 points.

Penne played consistently and recorded eight three pointers on her scorecard.
