Pioneers schedule locked in
PIONEERS fans can start planning the 2026 season with the release of the NBL1 South draw this week.
The Mount Gambier Pioneers Basketball Club are gearing up for what promises to be another action-packed year.
Mount Gambier’s Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre will again host 11 regular season home games.
The 2026 NBL1 South season will tip off on the weekend of March 27– 29, with both the OneFortyOne Pioneers and Castec Rural Pioneers opening the year on the road across the first two rounds, separated by the Easter break.
The Pioneers will return to Wulanda for their first home game of the 2026 season on Friday, April 17, hosting the Ballarat Miners, marking an early highlight for local supporters eager to see both programs back on their home floor.
The Pioneers regular season home fixture will include the return of several significant game day activations with club sponsors and league wide theme rounds hosted at Wulanda Recreation & Convention Centre across the season.
Mount Gambier will proudly host its second consecutive ANZAC Day clash, welcoming the Waverley Falcons to Wulanda as the Pioneers recognise and honour the ANZAC spirit.
The Pioneers Basketball Club will celebrate its club heritage and recognise its history in a league heritage round against the Ringwood.
In 2026 the First Nations Round will be observed nationally across all NBL1 conferences, across two weekends of basketball join the league in celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and the competition and its member club’s connection to Country.
The club will also continue its tradition of recognising its valued naming-right partners, OneFortyOne and Castec Rural and other community organisations through dedicated theme games aligned with supporting local charities — an important commitment that remains central to the Pioneers’ community-driven purpose.
Both our women’s and men’s pre-season will tip off by the middle of February with several pre-season weekends scheduled before the start of the NBL1 South season.
Both teams will travel to the NBL1 South Blitz to be held at Courtside Melbourne on March 13–15.
