Rijthoven & Heaver combine for club championship
Shylie Rymill runners up Jeannette Braun & Rosalie Hunt, Shylie Rymill winners and Club Foursomes runners up Carol Davis & Denise Harvey and Club Foursomes champions Jennifer Van Rijthoven & Helen Heaver.
NINTEEN pairs of lady golfers participated in the difficult Foursomes Competitions last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, once again generously sponsored by Bruhn Stone.
The prestigious Club Championship Foursomes was won by Jennifer Van Rijthoven and Helen Heaver (Handicap 14.5) with a great score of 87 off the stick.
Their split for the two nines was 42/45=87.
The pair played very consistent golf and included six pars on their card.
Only one shot behind with 88 off the stick was the pairing of Carol Davis and Denise Harvey (Handicap 17.5).
The women’s back nine was exceptional with 41 off the stick and their score included a birdie on the Par 3, 8th Hole plus five pars.
Carol Davis and Denise Harvey (Handicap 17.5) won the Handicap State Event, taking home the Shylie Rymill Medals, which will be presented at the end of the year presentation night.
As previously mentioned Carol and Denise had 47/41=88=Nett 70.5 a really good result for the foursome format.
In second place in the Shylie Rymill Event was Rosalie Hunt and Jeannette Braun (Handicap 24.5) with 47/49=96=Nett 71.5.
The pair registered three pars on the 3rd/9th and 16th holes.
Ten balls were handed out in the ball rundown.
The speciality p0rizes for the day for the Long Drive on the 7th Hole went to A Grade – Jan Shanahan, B Grade – Lizzie Clements and C Grade – Sue McPherson all collected two balls each.
On the Par 3, 8th Hole the Pro Shot went to Denise Harvey with partner Carol Davis complementing Denise’s great shot with a birdie.APRIL 11 RESULTS
Wintry conditions greeted 14 ladies who teed up for a stableford game at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Saturday.
Continuing on her good form was first placegetter Gail Watson (Handicap 38) with 34 points, made up of 18/16=34 points.
In her winning score Gail posted six three pointers.
Second placegetter was Trudy Johnson (Handicap 18) with 19/14=33 points including four pars.
Four balls were handed out to Janina Morrison, Di O’Donnell, Helen Gregory and Penne Saffin.
Jess Parsons won the NTP on the 8th Hole.
