Ross leads team to championship

THE Millicent Bowls Club held their Ladies’ Championship Fours at the weekend, starting at 10am, with all games leading up to the grand final played over 12 ends and the grand final played over 15 ends.

The two teams winning their way to the grand final were the reigning Ladies’ Champion team for 2024/25, Lyn Scudds, Elaine Goode, Ros Varcoe and Judy Lowe, going up against, Sarah Ross, Mary Campbell, Carol Gibbs and Faye Hill.

By the fifth end of the game the scores were sitting at five shots each.

There was a very high standard of bowling by all players and by the 11th end the scores were still tied, sitting at nine shots all, while by the completion of the 13th end with only two ends to play, the score was tied at 10 shots.

The Ross team was able to win the last two ends with the scores finishing at the Ross team 12 shots to the Scudds team 10 shots, giving Sarah Ross, Mary Campbell, Carol Gibbs and Faye Hill the title of Ladies’ Championship Fours winners for 2025/26 Season.
